University of Cincinnati – African American Cultural Resource Center

The African American Cultural Resource Center (AACRC) at The University of Cincinnati underwent an interior refresh to modernize the space while preserving its cultural significance. Swath Design was contracted to expand upon the updated graphic style and seamlessly integrate it into the interior resource center. A key challenge was organizing and displaying a vast collection of paper marketing materials and photos in a way that felt both engaging and accessible. Our design solution incorporated strategic display systems that not only provide structure but also enhance the storytelling of the AACRC’s rich history. The center’s existing logo, colors, and graphic elements were woven into the space, creating a cohesive visual identity that honors influential figures, highlights their contributions, and celebrates African American heritage in a dynamic and meaningful way.
