Swath Design collaborated with kidscommons and local architect Louis Joyner Architects to bring the vision of camp kidscommons to life. Our team played a crucial role in both the fundraising and design aspects of the project. To help secure the necessary funding, we developed innovative concepts and illustrations for new exhibits, along with creating custom fundraising components for each area. These tailored components included personalized donation boxes, which streamlined the process and effectively engaged different audiences, ensuring the project’s financial success.
Once the funds were secured, we worked alongside kidscommons and Louis Joyner Architects to transform the 1600-square-foot third-floor exhibit space into an immersive, camp-like environment. We designed multiple two-story outdoor-themed settings that encourage children to run, jump, climb, and explore. The exhibits feature a variety of habitats, including a forest canopy, an underground tunnel, a supply shack, a creek, a tree house, a campsite, an overhang, and a nature center, all enhanced with lighting and sound effects to simulate a 24-hour day within just one hour. The result is a dynamic, interactive space that invites kids to learn about flora, fauna, and nature while engaging in hands-on activities. The project was completed in two efficient phases, successfully transforming the space into a vibrant educational playground.
