Catholic Health Partners merged two existing hospitals, Mercy Health and Community Hospital, to create a new $143 million, 470,000 square-foot, 254-bed medical center. This state-of-the-art facility offers access to top health professionals and physicians, along with advanced equipment and cutting-edge facilities. The medical center is also programmed to include future additions, such as a medical office building and support buildings.
Swath was entrusted with developing the comprehensive wayfinding master plan for both the exterior and interior of the facility. In addition to designing the environmental graphics and signage, Swath was responsible for room numbering and sign programming. The design celebrated the local flora and fauna, incorporating elements that connect the medical center with its surroundings while providing a clear, intuitive navigation experience for patients and visitors.
