Swath designed a comprehensive, efficient, and visually appealing interior sign system for the University of Notre Dame’s 202,000-square-foot Jordan Hall of Science. This $70 million facility is the largest on campus dedicated to undergraduate education.
Exclusively focused on scientific instruction and research, the building features 40 undergraduate laboratories for biology, chemistry, and physics, along with two 250-seat lecture halls, a 150-seat multimedia lecture hall, a greenhouse, an herbarium, and an observatory.
The wayfinding system was designed to embody Notre Dame’s brand identity, complement the architectural style of the building and campus, and reflect the sophistication of its academic purpose. Integrated seamlessly into the built environment, the system enhances both the visual and functional experience of the facility.
