The University of Cincinnati’s West Campus underwent significant improvements as part of its master plan development strategy, with major phases focused on creating a vibrant Campus Life environment. This included the construction of a new recreation center, student union, retail services, and housing along MainStreet, a key campus corridor. While these developments were underway, many existing services and routes were displaced, impacting campus accessibility and daily activities.
To address these challenges, Swath provided comprehensive architectural and planning consultation, focusing on displaced services, changes to vehicle traffic flow, and identifying construction zone limits. In addition, Swath designed and implemented a temporary wayfinding system to guide students, faculty, and visitors around construction areas. This effort included environmental design, graphic design, and fabrication documentation, as well as installation consulting to ensure a clear and functional navigation experience throughout the campus during the construction period.
